On March 4, 2024, LWC Education & Libraries chair (E&L) Janice Pelton, E&L member Irene Peach and LWC President Lynn Prichard met Wyoming State Archaelologist Spencer Pelton at Velma Linford Elementary School in Albany County School District #1. Spencer brought a variety of archaeological artifacts and a slide presentation for discovery to the 48th fifth graders in attendance. The students were eager and excited about the presentation. They had many interesting comments and asked lots of relevant questions. The Laramie Woman's Club purchased a book for all 48th fifth graders. Each student received a copy of Accidental Archaeologists: True Stories of Unexpected Discoveries by Sarah Albee. Students promptly got into small groups to look at their new books and share their comments and new discoveries.

On October 9 & 10, 2024, Education/Libraries/ESO (E/L/ESO) member Irene Peach met Kristen Thompson at the playscape in Kiwanis Park. E/L/ESO chair Janice Pelton joined us for a short time for the first presentation. Kristen's presentation was on Wildfire on Wyoming Landscapers. October 9th: Group 1-4th graders walked to Kiwanis Park and met Kristen Thomason at the playscape. Kristen presented the forest and fire safety information. Students were engaged and had some prior knowledge of Wyoming landscapes and fires. Kristen did a demonstration of a wildfire. She used a foil baking sheet, sand and matches to show how wildfires start and spread. She introduced new vocabulary such as embers and mitigation. Students were engaged with the presentation and asked a variety of questions.
October 10th: Group 2-4th graders met Kristen at the playscape at Kiwanis Park. Kristen did the same presentation, introduction of new vocabulary, and demonstration of wildfire as the previous day. Again, students were engaged, asked a variety of questions and demonstrated prior knowledge. This class had a little extra time to identify spruce trees and potential fire dangers at the park. The Laramie Woman's Club purchased a book for all fourth graders. Each student received I Survived the California Wildfires 2018 by Lauren Tarshis.

The Women's Civic League of Cheyenne provided a grant to Rooted in Cheyenne to help with developing the educational portion of the organization's website. The development included modernizing the website, producing and posting videos on the diverse trees and shrubbery that grows best in Cheyenne and how to best take care of those plants to ensure longevity.

The Women's Club of Sweetwater County, with the aid of a library employee, created a picture board of the WCSC members holding library cards. The picture board was posted at the library encouraging adults and children alike to get their library card.
